I want to lay it down on the line so that there is no misunderstanding. Although this is a personal blog written and edited by me, I still have to eat, pay my bills and keep my wife happy, so I may on occasion accept forms of cash advertising, sponsorship, paid insertions or other means of compensation. In other words, don’t be surprised if I decide to do a post for an advertiser in exchange for some money : For questions about this blog, please contact email@example.com.
I would love to have a blog that is 100% ad free, but unfortunately I have to find ways to to cover the costs involved in hosting the blog and for the time that I devote to doing the posts in regards to research and stuff.
You can always tell when a post has been sponsored on this blog as it will appear in the “SpecialOps” category and if I ever write a post that is promoting one of my affiliates you can consider it as advertising and I will post it in the “Advertising” category.
So yes, there may be occasions when I may be compensated to provide opinion on products, services, websites and various other topics and although I may receive compensation for my post or advertisement, I will always endeavor to give honest opinions, findings, beliefs, or experiences on those topics or products. So while the views and opinions expressed on this blog are purely my own, any product claim, statistic, quote or other representation about a product or service should be verified with the manufacturer, provider or party in question.
If there is ever an occasion when you are not sure about whether the post is sponsored or not, just leave a comment and I will respond as soon as possible.
In case you’re wondering why you can see double underlined links, don’t worry, you’re eyes are not playing tricks on you.
These links are part of an advertising service called Infolinks. Infolinks uses the In Text method of advertising: they take my text and create links within it. If you hover your mouse over these double underlined links, you will see a small dialog box containing advertisement related to the text marked. You can choose to either move the mouse away and go on with your browsing, or to press on the box and go to the ad which is relevant to our text.
