Australian International Sweep Stake Lottery Ticket Scam

I’ve been getting quite a few emails lately telling me how I’ve won one lottery or another and while deleting the last one it suddenly hit me! The reason I’m getting these emails is because there are people out there who obviously fall prey to this sort of stuff and I owe it to them to protect them from the lowlifes who send this crap out. I’m sure most people who get these emails will search online to find out whether or not these emails are legitimate, especially if they never purchased a lottery ticket in the first place.

In order to help those people, I’ve decided to create a new category on this blog called Bullshit Lottery! This category will be specifically for those emails, so that I can highlight to others why each particular email is so full of shit and should be discarded. Let’s look at our first scam lottery ticket email.

This email is so full of holes it is unbelievable. First off, no-one is going to send you money to a lottery in which you haven’t purchased a lottery ticket. Also, I’m not aware of any professional who would use either hotmail or gmail accounts on a professional letter. This email obviously falls in the phishing category which means all they are after is your private details which they will use against you. They could use it to aid them in stealing your identity or to send you more emails in order to coerce some cash out of you.

Do not, I repeat DO NOT reply to the email because once you do it just confirms your email address which will expose you to a lot more of the same. What you should do is delete the email and forget it even existed. I hope you found this post useful.
