I’m always getting asked by people as to why they can’t buy lottery tickets with PayPal! I don’t blame them either when you consider how easy it is to purchase your lottery tickets with PayPal. This is especially true because there are so many people who have PayPal accounts. It’s only natural they feel slighted because they’re not allowed to spend their money in whatever they choose. Why not by buying a lottery ticket, especially when the current US PowerBall is worth some $247 million!
I remember a time not that long ago when you could buy Megamillions or US Powerball lottery tickets with Paypal. I actually promoted the fact on this very blog. That site used to be Lottobroker.com but unfortunately Paypal put a stop to this once they found out. The problem isn’t that these online lottery sites don’t want to offer PayPal as a means for buying your lottery tickets online. Nope, it’s because PayPal won’t allow them to do so.
The only site I’ve found so far that allows you to purchase lottery tickets with PayPal is Oz Lotteries! This is only been a recent event though as PayPal wasn’t an option when I first joined them. I’m assuming Paypal only became an option once they stopped offering their services to Americans.
Why You Can’t Buy Lottery Tickets With PayPal
This is the real question. Why won’t PayPal allow you to purchase lottery tickets online with PayPal. Here is a snippet of what PayPal has to say about it.
PayPal prohibits transactions for gambling activities by merchants and account holders in the US and any jurisdiction where gambling activities are illegal, and by merchants whose services are accessible to account holders in the US.
PayPal allows approved gambling merchants to use our service in certain jurisdictions where gambling activities are legal. To be approved by PayPal, merchants must demonstrate to PayPal’s satisfaction that they have the ability to block gambling activities for account holders in the US and any jurisdiction where gambling activities may be illegal.

How To Pay For Your Lottery Ticket Online
Luckily there are other means for paying for your lottery tickets.
