How Do I Pay For My Lottery Tickets Online

If there is one question that I am constantly asked by people when I talk to them about online lottery tickets it’s how do they pay for them? The second most asked question, remembering that I deal with a lot of people who do their transactions online, is Do they accept PayPal? The answer to these questions vary depending on where you choose to buy your online lottery tickets and that being the case we will deal with each one individually.

Oz Lotteries

Oz Lotteries is the premier lottery site if you are wanting to purchase any of the Australian Lotteries. These including Oz Lotto and Powerball. The main reason for purchasing your Aussie lottery tickets from them rather than from someone like theLotter.com is the price. If you were to purchase 12 games from theLotter it would cost you $22.20 where the same number of games from OzLotteries would only cost you $9 which is a savings of $13.20! You’re basically getting them for less than half price!

The only reason you would use theLotter.com to purchase your lottery ticket online would be if you’re an American or living in Queensland because OzLotteries will not sell lottery tickets to anyone living in the States or Queensland. As you can see from the image below OzLotteries does accept payment from PayPal as well as Visa, MasterCard, BPay and Diners Club.

LottoZone

LottoZone is different from your normal online lottery site as it allows you to play a lot more than your normal lotteries. My previous post LottoZone Providing More Than Just Online Lotteries explains the uniqueness of this lottery site. This is more suited to the online gambler as there is no need to wait days for upcoming draws as they are drawn on a daily basis. Members are also able to play games such as slots, roulette and blackjack. They can also play special branded games like Hellboy, Tomb Raider and Hitman.

Before being able to play their games members need to deposit money into their online lotto account. To do this they can use either of the following:

  • Visa
  • Neteller
  • moneybookers.com

According to the image on the left it seems that they also have Click2Pay and clickandbuy coming soon. No mention of PayPal which is a real shame as that is my preferred method for purchasing stuff online.

I’ve yet to use their services but once I do I will be doing a review of their site. Don’t forget to subscribe so that you don’t miss out on that post.

theLotter.com

Finally, we come to theLotter which is the premium lottery site because it allows its members to buy tickets from any of the main lotteries no matter which country is running them. At the time of this post you could search the world and play from any of 38 lotteries with jackpots totaling US$ 613,672,410!

My post on how to buy lottery tickets from theLotter shows you just how easy it is to use. Unfortunately they don’t accept PayPal, but they do accept GeoTrus, Tysers, Visa, Amex, MasterCard, Diners Club, moneybookers, Neteller, sofort, glropay, JCP and a couple of others. I must admit that is pretty impressive, but no PayPal; what’s with that anyway?

Even so the main thing is that as a member you have access to all the major lotteries, so if you would like to join it’s as easy as clicking on this registration link.

So, if you’re wondering which site accepts PayPal to purchase your lottery tickets online there’s only one and that one is OzLotteries

Be careful using PayPal for buying lottery tickets. I’ve had my paypal account frozen because it is against their policy.

    Just a heads up!

Actually it’s only against their policy if you’re a US citizen.

PayPal allows approved gambling merchants to use our service in certain jurisdictions where gambling activities are legal. To be approved by PayPal, merchants must demonstrate to PayPal’s satisfaction that they have the ability to block gambling activities for account holders in the US and any jurisdiction where gambling activities may be illegal.

Oz Lotteries does not allow anyone from the US to buy their tickets and so they are an approved PayPal merchant.

Here is a link to PayPal regarding their policy on buying lottery tickets online.
