Three Winners In the Mega Millions Biggest Ever Jackpot

And guess what I wasn’t one of them  :tdwn: But you know what, I don’t really care because at least I know I gave it a shot. Yep, I gave it a shot and lost but even though there were millions who also took a chance there were many more millions that didn’t and they will never know whether or not they could have been millionaires right now.

Still, enough of that, let’s take a look at the winning numbers and what the dividends were.

There were actually three winners in Draw # 2012/26 who will collect $213 million each before taxes. There were also three other winners who instantly became millionaires. We can only hope that they’re all able to deal with their winnings wisely because if you remember from my post on What To Do With Your Lottery Winnings winning the lottery is not always a good thing if you’re not careful with with the way you utilise your sudden fortune.

According to the Yahoo NewsSite Americans spent nearly $1.5 billion for a chance to hit the jackpot and that the;

Illinois’ winner used a quick pick — an automatically generated set of digits — to select the winning numbers at a convenience store in the small town of Red Bud, south of St. Louis, Illinois Lottery spokesman Mike Lang said. The winning numbers also were purchased at a 7-Eleven in Milford Mill, Md., north of Baltimore, and somewhere in northeast Kansas.

Damn, I used a quick pick as well but lucked out this time around, but what the heck, there is always next time. At least I didn’t have to line up with the multitudes, fight the crowds being jostled by those smelling of perspiration who didn’t shower that day. Nope I got my tickets from the comfort of my home because I bought it online using theLotter.com. I’m also happy in the knowledge that I didn’t have to worry about losing my ticket, especially if it was the winner.

OK, now to see if I won the Aussie Lotto, sure it was only worth $21 million but even that is something worth winning .
